30 m3 wood chip skip

Our client is a French company that creates low-carbon energy by recycling P31 forestry chips. They called on AA [...].

    Context

    Our customer, a French company specialising in the production of low-carbon energy from P31 forestry chips, asked us to design a complete solution integrated into its hydrogen production process. The solution comprises several belt and scraper conveyors, as well as a hopper with a moving floor. In this article, we present the hopper, the first element in this chain.


    Solution

    For this project, we designed a skip with integrated ladders, offering a stationary storage capacity of 30 m³. Equipped with advanced features, this innovative solution can be used to store and transport a variety of materials. At our customer's site, it will be transporting P31 wood chips.


    The tipper is equipped with a removable moving floor, operated by a hydraulic cylinder for fast, efficient unloading onto a conveyor. A hydraulic oil unit, located next to the tipper, is connected to the hydraulic cylinder to ensure lubrication. A heating system integrated into the unit heats the oil when the outside temperature is below 13°C.


    Front and rear level sensors have been installed to monitor the amount of material in the hopper. To protect the chips from the elements, we have added a tarpaulin, which can be easily opened by a crank handle on the front of the hopper.
