AA Biomasse: A Revolution in Automatic Boat Unloading

AA Biomasse has developed an innovative concept for automatic boat unloading, which will be installed for the first time in a barge transporting wood in Chile. This new technology marks a turning point in unloading operations, offering an efficient and automated solution.

Founded in 2003, AA Biomasse specialises in the design and manufacture of equipment for machine tool protection, fairing, and chip removal and recovery. Its products, which are suitable for all types of machine tool, are used in a wide range of industrial sectors, including the automotive, rail, aerospace and shipping industries.

Arthur Vernier, Managing Director of AA Biomasse, comments: ‘Our technical expertise is backed up by personalised customer service and advice. Our aim is to maximise our customers' productivity by offering them the solutions best suited to their protection and conveying needs.

AA Biomasse is now established on the European market and has also succeeded in establishing itself in South America for river transport. ‘In a difficult economic climate, we have extended our expertise to other markets, particularly the timber industry. Our solutions, which are usually standard in the machine tool sector, have proved particularly innovative in these new segments. This has enabled AA Biomasse to increase its production volumes despite an uncertain economic climate,’ explains Arthur Vernier.

The new automatic unloading system will enable a 4000 m³ load to be emptied in less than two hours, a considerable advance on traditional methods using cranes or backhoe loaders. The first piece of equipment will be delivered to Chilean customers at the end of the year, with a second order scheduled for next March.

Arthur Vernier adds: ‘Our ability to adapt and the cohesion of our team were essential in developing this technical solution in the face of an unprecedented challenge. We also had the support of local partners in the Allier department and the Auvergne region, 80% of whom contributed to the success of this project.

AA Biomasse's design office spent more than two years designing this product, which looks set to be marketed on a promising national and international scale.
